BIRD FEEDING
with Ilse Gebhard

A member of the Audobon Society, Ilse has presented information on feeding the birds many times and is delighted to share her expertise with us. Her slide show and talk will be supplemented with numerous handouts, as well as an exhibit, and she will gladly answer your questions.

Our feathered friends depend on us to help them through the winter, and feeding and watching the birds is a joyous activity!

CANDIDATE FORUM FOR COUNTY COMMISSION CANDIDATES
Sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the Kalamazoo Area

The League of Women Voters of the Kalamazoo Area will provide a candidate forum for Kalamazoo County Commission candidates.

Districts 5, 11, 12 & 13 will be included. These districts include the city of Parchment, city of Kalamazoo (precinct 6), Kalamazoo Township precincts in the West Main area, Texas, Alamao, Oshtemo and Cooper Townships, and the city of Portage (precinct 10).

This is a FREE program and open to the public.

Registration is appreciated, but not required.

  • Anyone who wants to avoid the misery of the flu.
  • Those at high risk for complications from the flu, including:
    Children age 6 months to 5 years
    Pregnant women
    People 50 years of age and older
    People of any age with certain chronic medical conditions
    People who live in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities
  • People who live with/care for those at high risk for complications, including:
    Health care workers
    Household contacts of persons at high risk for flu complications
    Household contacts and out-of-home caregivers of children less than 6 months of age (who are too young to be vaccinated)

PERSONALIZED CALENDAR WORKSHOP
with Jennifer Roelof

Just in time for the holidays and the new year, create a 12x12" customized spiral bound calendar for yourself or to give as a gift! Each monthly page can be easily removed later and added to your scrapbook, if you wish.

All materials will be provided for this two-session class.

The cost will be $15.00 per person, and a sample will be available at the library in September.

Space is limited, so registration is due by October 30.

SPA TEA
with Jeri Holcomb of Tudor House Tea

Jeri will lead us through breating and gentle stretching exercises (all done while seated in our chairs). She will talk about how relaxing and having a cup of tea can help de-stress us on our busy days.

We will sample four teas known for their relaxing and restorative properties, as well as delicious scones and spreads.

It will be a charming and relaxing evening.

This is a FREE program and seating is limited. Please register before November 7.
