The Friends of the Parchment Community Library are men and women who value the services the library provides to our community, and who participate in fund-raising events to support library programs.  
 
In recent years, the Friends have raised several thousand dollars a year for new equipment, programming, and materials.   Last year, the Friends
  • renewed the library's subscription to "Book Page," a monthly publication available to library patrons for free
  • paid for library programming for adults and children, including the Summer Reading Program
  • continued library lawn care & maintenance 
  • paid for the Library Staff Appreciation Luncheon
Everyone is welcome to join the Friends!  
BOOKSALES
 
If you love great bargains, then you'll LOVE our booksales!   Prices are typically just 25 cents per paperback and 50 cents per hardback book, with audios and movies priced at just one or two dollars.  ALL children's books are just 25 cents each!  Our magazines are FREE!   New bestsellers in hardback are priced at one to five dollars.

Saturday, March 23, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm 
     (Early Bird Sale 9-10 am, $1.00 admission)
 
Saturday, July 13, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm 
     (Early Bird Sale 9-10 am, $1.00 admission)
 
Saturday, October 19, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm 
     (Early Bird Sale 9-10 am, $1.00 admission)

We also have a selection of used books for sale EVERY DAY in our Friends of the Library shelves near the Circulation Desk!
 
Proceeds from the Friends of the Library booksales are used to support the library's collection and programs.
HOW TO JOIN US
 
There are two ways to become a Friend.  Support us through financial contributions and/or become an active volunteer. 
 
Membership levels are listed below and are effective for one year from date of purchase.  (Membership forms are available at the library.)
 
New Cell Senior Membership (age 65+) $4.00 New Cell NEW CELL

We appreciate your charitable giving!  If a monetary donation is not possible but you would like to support the mission of the Friends of the library, many volunteer opportunities are available.  If you are interested in becoming a Friend, please fill out a Membership Form or leave contact information with the library staff.

The Friends meet at the library on the 3rd Monday of the month at 2:00 pm, in the following months:

GOT BOOKS?
 
Please donate your gently-used books to our Friends of the Library booksales.
 
Clean off your shelves and help the library at the same time!
 
We take ALL books (and DVDs, videos & CDs) except textbooks and encyclopedias.
 
Also, books that are smoky, dirty, or moldy are better off taken to the recycling center.
