DESCRIPTION: Registration for this event is full. \nExperience tastes of Chinese American food from Cravings Corners and gain insights into Chinese American food heritage from Xin Wang, co-owner of Pacific Rim, Cravings Deli, and Cravings Corners. Enter a drawing to win a copy of the book. Seating is limited and free registration is required for this event.\nXin Wang graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in finance and earned an MBA at Western Michigan University. She worked at JP Morgan Chase as VP underwriter for middle market before she and her husband opened the Asian grocery store Pacific Rim in 2008 in Kalamazoo. In 2018, they expanded Pacific Rim in a larger location on the border between Kalamazoo and Portage and added Cravings Deli as the second half of their store. In 2024, they opened the restaurant Cravings Corners in Texas Township. Xin began offering food classes after Pacific Rim opened. Most of her classes are fully booked within 24 hours. She says that culinary food has been in her family for generations (her dad, uncle, brother, cousins are all chefs) and that is where her passion is. The Pacific Rim website ( https://www.pacificrimfoods.com/ ) elaborates: “We believe food makes people happy. Food connects us, embraces unity, sparks passion among all cultures and backgrounds. We want to inspire people to learn beyond one city and one country. We want to simplify and bring thousands of years of Asian Culinary Culture to one store, to your family… one plate at a time.”\nThis event is part of the Great Michigan Read program.
