PARCHMENT CITY COMMISSION

CANDIDATE FORUM

Monday, September 27th at 6:30 p.m. in the Library's Community Room

This is your chance to meet the candidates who are running for the Parchment City Commission!  Six candidates are on the ballot for four positions.  The election will be held on November 2nd.

The candidates will make prepared statements to answer each of the following questions (with a time limit of 2 minutes):

- Please introduce yourself with a brief biography and tell us the primary reason you are running for office.  How long have you lived here, and what specific skills / strengths will you bring to the role of commissioner?  If you are elected, what do you want to achieve during your tenure? 


- What is the most critical issue facing Parchment, and what should be done to address it?  


Each member of the audience may write one question for the candidates on an index card. Each candidate’s response will be limited to 1 minute.

 

Each candidate will have 1 minute at the end for a closing statement.

​Candidates and audience members will have the chance to chat informally after the forum.

COVID Mitigation Measures and Other Information: Audience members will be required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth to attend this event.  Audience capacity will be limited to 36.  Free tickets will be distributed at the door on the evening of the event to keep track of the number of attendees.  The doors will open at 6:10.  An elevator will be available.  The doors will be locked once the tickets are gone or at 6:40 p.m., whichever comes first.  Chairs will be set up following social distancing guidelines; members of the same household may move their chairs closer together as desired.  People who are not comfortable attending in person may submit questions in advance for consideration by emailing ref@parchmentlibrary.org before 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17.

The forum will be recorded and is expected to be available through our website by October 1.
