The 19th amendment to the United States Constitution granting women the right to vote was ratified on August 18th, 1920.  On the eve of the amendment’s centennial, find out more about Michigan’s suffragist movement in the decade leading up to ratification.  D. E. Johnson, author of The Detroit Electric Scheme, Motor City Shakedown, and Detroit Breakdown, will discuss his book Detroit Shuffle and fascinating stories from his research while writing it.
