Digital Content

The following Internet-based services can be accessed from computers, tablets, and smartphones.

These are available only to library cardholders who live within the Parchment Community Library district.  

Those with Reciprocal Borrower cards may access digital content through their home libraries.

Use the number on the back of your library card to log in.

(Your card number must begin with a 7 and have six digits. If it doesn't,  stop in or email us at ref@parchmentlibrary.org and we'll give you a free replacement card.)

Please note:  Reciprocal Borrower cards, and cards with more than $50 in unreturned and overdue materials, will not be able to access our digital library.

Free digital books, audiobooks, comic books, movies, TV shows and music.

  • No waiting lists!  All titles, all formats, always available.

  • While the COVID19 shutdown continues, the limit of Hoopla checkouts per person has been increased from 5 to 10 items per month.  

  • Hoopla now offers "Bonus Borrows" - a collection of over 1,100 of their top titles, including new releases and hoopla favorites. You can view the curated collection here: https://hoopla.app.link/e3MgJIOGa5.

  • Can be accessed with an Internet-connected computer, tablet or smartphone.  Get the free app!  Search your App Store for "Hoopla" or Hoopla Digital."

  • Digital content can be downloaded to a mobile device (tablet or smartphone) for later viewing offline.

  • This service is available to district residents only.  Reciprocal cardholders should check to see if your home library offers Hoopla.

MeL is the Michigan eLibrary, a 24/7 online library for Michigan residents.

  • MeL Databases allow you instant access to full-text articles from tens of thousands of magazines and newspapers. Databases are available for kids, adults, and on specialized topics such as car repair and practice tests.

  • MeLCat allows you to order books, audio books, music, movies and other materials and have them delivered to your participating library. View a video to familiarize yourself with MeLCat.

  • MeL Michigana contains photographs, diaries, oral histories, local records and historical Michigan data. View a video to familiarize yourself with MeL Michigana.

  • MeL Gateways include specialized resources such as those in health, business and areas for kids and teens.

Free digital eBooks and eAudiobooks

  • Never an overdue fee - eBooks return themselves!

  • Great selection for all ages.  Limit 7 items out at one time.

RBdigital is an online service for downloading audiobooks and magazines. All titles are always available, and you may borrow as many as you like.

To get started, you'll need a six-digit Parchment Community Library card number.  If you have one of our older cards, let us know by calling the library at 269 343-7747 or emailing ref@parchmentlibrary.org      

 

RBdigital is compatible with all popular listening devices, and free mobile apps are available for iOS, Android, and Kindle Fire devices. Live toll-free technical support is available at 1-877-77AUDIO.
