Hot Air Balloons Summer Reading Kickoff Event

Celebrate the beginning of summer reading with a hot air balloon display in Kindleberger Park at the east end of the lower park at the base of Scout Hill (weather permitting).  Tom Brown of Gentle Journey Balloons and Ron Centers, Michigan Balloon Corporation Pilot Emeritus, will inflate a full-size hot air balloon, a hopper (one-person) balloon, and a remote-control hot air balloon. No rides will be offered, but there will be great photo opportunities!

While you’re watching the demonstration, you can also sign up for the Adventure Begins at Your Library Summer Reading Program! Look for our sign-up table. Registration is available for all ages, preschool through adult.
