Early Readers Book Club-CANCELLED

Children in grades K-2 are welcome to join our Early Readers Book Club. This program is meant to introduce excellent emerging reader books to children who are being introduced to more formal “learn-to-read” techniques in school, to get them excited about books and reading, and to help them develop social skills through interacting with their peers. This program encourages parents to engage with their new readers over a book in multiple ways. Therefore, kids can bring their adult along to book club and they do the all the activities together.

Unlike a typical book club, there is no need to read the book ahead of time. We will read all the books together as a group, selecting tow or three book from our J READER collection. We will start with a simpler book and work our way up in complexity so that all children, no matter their reading experience, feel included while also gradually getting comfortable reading aloud.
