Meet a Therapy Dog at the Library
Big Furry Friends will be at the library on Tuesdays, October 10 through November 21, between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. in the Teen Area. Stop by to visit the dogs! All ages are welcome.
Information from www.big-furry-friends.com: The Big Furry Friends Animal Assisted Therapy Team is made up of more than 10 dog-human pairings available to deploy to a range of settings.
Each team undergoes at least 12 weeks of training, learning to enter a large range of environments and settings to deliver emotional and motivational support to all individuals. Each team member holds an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen certificate, and is a member of Alliance Therapy Dog Association. Handlers are trained to become knowledgeable of their dog’s body language, stress indicators, and the environment around them.
