Mini-Canvas Painting Challenge Ends

Beat the winter blahs by taking the Mini-Canvas Painting Challenge!  This challenge is open to adults, teens, and tweens – in short, everyone age 11 and older.  Here’s how it works:

1) Pick up a kit at the library beginning on Monday, February 12.  Just ask at the front desk.  48 kits will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. One kit per person.  No registration is necessary and no reservations may be made.  Kits include a 4″x4″ mini-canvas, easel, two paintbrushes, palette for mixing, and 12 small pots of acrylic paint.

2) Paint a design of your own on the canvas.  Will it be a landscape, a pet portrait, a still life, an abstract, or something else?  Let the colors and the canvas inspire you!

3) Bring your canvas and easel back to the library by Tuesday, February 27 to be part of the March exhibit.  Be sure to write your name and telephone number on the wood on the top back of your canvas and on your easel using a pencil or a thin marker.

4) Enjoy seeing the paintings on exhibit in our lobby display case March 1-30.  Paintings will be rotated in and out during the month so that all can be on display.

5) Pick up your painting and easel March 30-April 5 and enjoying displaying the artwork in your own home!
