Michigan Works! Southwest is part of the statewide Michigan Works! system established to provide high-quality employment and training services for employers, workers and jobseekers.

Whether you need a job or need an employee, they can help!

A Michigan Works representative is at the library on the 3rd Monday each month from 10:00 am - noon.  Call 269-343-7747 to make an appointment from 10:00-11:00 or 11:00-12:00.  Walk-ins are also welcome.

Fair Housing Center of Southwest Michigan - Kalamazoo

Equal housing opportunities are ensured through services at the Fair Housing Center which include: Investigating complaints based on discrimination; Obtaining evidence through enforcement activities; Initiating complaints and/or litigation assistance; Conducting conferences, training programs and seminars; Evaluating fair housing practices; Assisting businesses, neighborhood groups, agencies, and units of government to develop fair housing goals, plans, strategies, and actions.


Housing Resources, Inc.

The mission of Housing Resources, Inc. (HRI), is the assurance of housing for socially or economically vulnerable residents of Kalamazoo County. Established in 1982, HRI has since dedicated its efforts to finding housing solutions for individuals in the midst of a crisis as well as on behalf of the community at large. Our services are designed to stabilize homeless households and those in jeopardy of losing their housing, so they are more likely to avoid a repeat situation. 


Kalamazoo Neighborhood Housing Services

Through a unique partnership with local residents, businesses, local funders, neighborhood associations, members of the real estate community, local lenders, and the City of Kalamazoo, KNHS enables individuals and families to enter into home ownership, rehabilitate their homes, and improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods.

Kalamazoo Public Library Local Organizations Index

A searchable index which will help you find information about more than 1,000 county social and human services, self-help organizations, churches, neighborhood groups, employment services, service clubs, and common-interest clubs. Each entry provides current addresses and phone numbers, contact people, services, goals or mission, client eligibility information, sources of support, and source and date of the information. Over 350 categories, ranging from apnea, autism, and child care, to service clubs, tutors, vocational guidance, and youth are indexed.
