1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Help your child prepare for one of life’s biggest milestones: KINDERGARTEN. The goal is to read 1,000 books (yes, you can repeat books) before your little one starts kindergarten.

The featured book for the Michigan Humanities Great Michigan Read 2023-24 was Firekeeper’s Daughter by Angeline Boulley. The 2025-26 selection is Everything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant by Curtis Chin.
