Story Sips: Hack to the Future
For ages 18+.
Discover a new favorite read while enjoying a thematic mocktail and hors d’oeuvres! Library staff and guest presenters will chat about favorite books on each night’s theme. We’ll have similar books to check out, or you can bring your own book to read quietly and enjoy a summer evening with bookish friends! If the weather permits, we’ll meet on the front lawn. If the weather misbehaves, we’ll meet inside the Library.
Registration is requested so that we will have enough hors d’oeuvres! Register online, in person, or by calling the library at (269) 343-7747.
Hack to the Future
The best thing about science fiction is that it has never been just one thing. Early writers mused about what it might be like when humanity took to the stars. True ‘science’ fiction digs into computer, chemical, and biological possibilities. Space operas, short stories, and sweeping series examine the human (and alien!) condition. And with every possible combination in between, there’s a little bit of every other genre somewhere in science fiction.
