Preserving Family Heirlooms (ages 18+)

Historian/Curator Jared Yax will cover the agents of deterioration (temperature, humidity, light, etc.) that can harm your possessions and how to combat them to preserve your family’s heritage. He’ll talk about ways to store and/or display your items. He’ll also highlight some of the hazards you need to watch for when collecting antiquities. You may bring one or two small items (that would fit in a shoebox) that you’d like help with for individual discussion at the end of the program.
